Currents is the official newsletter of OWCA. First published under the name Currents in Fall 2023, the newsletter highlights OWCA projects, educational initiatives, partnerships, and stewardship efforts throughout the Obed River watershed.

Fall 2024 (PDF)
The Fall 2024 issue of Currents highlights OWCA's ongoing efforts to strengthen organizational capacity, advance watershed stewardship, and expand community partnerships. Featured topics include the reinstatement of OWCA's capacity-building campaign, pollinator habitat restoration through Operation Pollination, participation in regional conservation education events, new partnerships with river advocacy organizations, and a summary of 2024 waterway cleanup efforts across the watershed.

The April 2022 OWCA newsletter focused on native plants, Smart Yards, and spring stewardship activities. Highlights included OWCA's participation in the Cumberland County Master Gardeners Flower, Lawn, & Garden Show, Tree Day distributions, educational hikes, and volunteer-led cleanup efforts across the watershed.

The January 2022 OWCA newsletter highlighted organizational leadership updates, grant support for native plant propagation, tree planting initiatives, litter reduction partnerships, and a full calendar of stewardship and educational activities planned for the year.
OWCA occasionally appears in local and regional media in connection with watershed protection, education, and community events.
OWCA restoration and cleanup work is supported through state grants, community sponsors, and volunteer contributions. Recent support has included funding from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to improve water quality and support cleanup efforts.
