Tennessee Smart Yards
Tennessee Smart Yards is a University of Tennessee Extension program that promotes environmentally friendly yard practices, including the use of native plants, reduced chemical inputs, and improved stormwater management. These practices help protect local waterways and support healthy ecosystems within the Obed River watershed.

Daddy's Creek Section - Crab Orchard Mountain Segment
The Crab Orchard Mountain segment of the Cumberland Trail includes approximately 7.5 miles of hiking along the Daddy's Creek corridor. This section offers a variety of scenic features that make it well-suited for both through-hikes and shorter out-and-back day hikes, including overlooks, rock formations, and nearly a mile of trail running alongside the creek.
Portions of the trail pass through a Wildlife Management Area. During designated big game hunting seasons, hikers are required to wear flourescent orange for safety. The trail is located in the Central Time Zone.

The Fairfield Glade Rotary is a local service organization that supports community improvement projects through volunteer service and grant funding. The Rotary partners with organizations like OWCA to advance environmental education, habitat restoration, and stewardship initiatives that benefit the greater Cumberland County community.
OWCA collaborates with FFG Rotary on native planting and meadow restoration projects that support pollinators and public land stewardship.
Native Plant Rescue Squad (NPRS) 👈
The Native Plant Rescue Squad of East Tennessee is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing native plants threatened by development and reintroducing them into protected and restored landscapes.
OWCA collaborates with NPRS on restoration projects and educational initiatives.
Tennessee Extension Master Gardeners 👈
The Cumberland County Extension Master Gardeners program provides research-based horticulture education and community outreach through the University of Tennessee Extension. Master Gardeners support sustainable gardening practices, native plant education, and environmental stewardship across Cumberland County.
